when it RAINS
A city built by the Britishers on the late 17th century , served as the capital of British Empire for almost over 50 years. Such a city which is often called as the : “Cultural Capital of India”, “City of Processions”, “City of Palaces”, “City of Joy” or “Intellectual Capital of India” with an enormous effect on the historical, cultural and sociopolitical phases of India. A city with an outstanding history of over 300 years.
When it rains in Calcutta.
Some pockets in the city simply turns into a pool of running water. Today its a metropolis of over a million population. But the city still follows the 300 year old drainage system.
